Google Advertisements Account Managers Should Not Contact Clients Straight

Posted by

There are a growing variety of reports across the web of Google Ads accounts managers threatening to contact clients straight, in spite of not being enabled to.

According to the reports, firms who do not react to e-mails from Google Advertisements account managers are being met with risks from Google representatives to contact customers directly.

Sometimes, the Google Advertisements account managers call customers and inform them to drop their agencies.

There are two things to make clear here:

  1. Agencies are not needed to speak to Google representatives
  2. At no point should a Google Ads account manager call a firm’s customer

A Google Ads rep telling customers to fire their agency crosses the line.

Nevertheless, these reports are ending up being more frequent.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn this week:

support our marketers and agency partners.” Screenshot from: linkedin.com/posts/mattjanaway, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports circulated on Reddit of Google reps taking part in similar practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an email received by a Google Advertisements Account

Strategist, which checks out: “I am composing to you one last time as a courtesy, because my sincere goal is to supply you

value and advanced methods with google ads and deal with you carefully, to help you conserve time and make your customers more effective with google ads, hence I am calling you for the last time to notify you that if I do not reach you, I will assume that you are not getting my e-mails and will call the customers that I have been appointed straight.”Another Reddit user has nearly the exact same story, stating they

have actually been “bothered”with daily e-mails from a Google Advertisements rep to get on a call and execute campaign modifications. Once again, companies aren’t obliged to talk with Google reps or carry out modifications customers aren’t requesting. Must you receive an e-mail like the one above, the best thing to do is send a complaint via

Google’s main type. Be careful of these aggressive sales techniques. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your clients’campaigns. Featured Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
